OLTS Learning Objectives:
1. Explain the muscle physiology and neuromuscular adaptations involved in Olympic lifting.
2. Identify the benefits of Olympic lifting for enhancing strength, power, coordination, and overall quality of life.
3. Develop tailored training programs incorporating principles of specificity, overload, and periodization.
4. Demonstrate proper equipment setup and safety protocols to prevent injuries.
5. Apply regressions and progressions for learning and mastering Olympic lifts.
6. Execute the Clean lift with proper technique, including starting position, first pull, second pull, turnover, and catch.
7. Perform the three types of Jerk (Drop Jerk, Power Jerk, Split Jerk) with correct form and technique.
8. Master the Snatch lift, focusing on starting position, first pull, second pull, turnover, and catch.
9. Practice hands-on execution of lifts, incorporating feedback and video analysis for improvement.
10. Utilize advanced teaching techniques (part-to-whole, pure-part, fractionalization) to effectively coach and instruct athletes.
