OLTS Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the history, cultural significance, and physiological adaptations of Olympic lifting.
2. Explain neuromuscular and musculoskeletal adaptations in power training.
3. Apply principles of program design, including specificity, overload, and acute variables.
4. Integrate power training within a resistance program and prevent overtraining.
5. Set up equipment safely and understand the role of lifting accessories.
6. Demonstrate skill progressions and regressions for foundational and advanced lifting techniques.
7. Choose appropriate lifts based on individual goals and perform squatting and hinging techniques.
8. Break down each phase of the Clean, Jerk, and Snatch, including hang and power positions.
9. Use drills to refine techniques for the Clean, Jerk, and Snatch.
10. Execute each lift safely with hands-on practice and analyze performance using video feedback.
11. Apply coaching methods tailored to diverse learning styles and teaching techniques like part-to-whole.
12. Summarize course concepts, provide participant feedback, and recommend resources for continued learning.
