Course content
1. Identify Anatomical structures involved in and affected by pregnancy.
2. Understand physiological response during and after pregnancy.
3. Identify skeletal muscles involved in pregnancy and common inhibited muscles
4. Understand aspects and dimensions of wellness post partum.
5. Identify health risks associated with pregnancy
6. Learn about Health risk screening, pre participation risk appraisal and medical clearance in a post partum exercise programspm
7. Learn and Identify post partum Fitness Assessments
8. Learn how to Create and implement a structured exercise program post partum (Correct lifting mechanics, breathing techniques, program design / FITT principles – Resistance Training, Cardio and Flexibility
9. Learn Exercise indications and contraindications
10. Understand Nutritional requirements and recommendations established for post natal participants
11. Understand Behavior Change, Rapport building, communication with postnatal participants.
12. Identify Common problems observed with post natal participants – Diastasis Recti, Hernia, Incontinence, C Section Pregnancies, Perineal Soreness, Heart Failure, Gestational Diabetes, Postpartum Thyroiditis.
